Description
Are you a retired couple or a couple travelling who are looking for a caretaking role either for the short, medium or longterm?
We have 2 caretaking opportunities available:
GOOLARA SIDING - Theodore Qld mid Jan 2025 – end April 2025 (1000 acre home block)
RUINED CASTLE - West of Taroom Qld mid Jan ongoing (75000 acre breeder block)
In both locations we are seeking capable house proud couples.
“RUINED CASTLE” is a scenic, remote forestry block surrounded on 3 sides by National Park. 75km on dirt road to the nearest town, Taroom (and 152km to Theodore) it offers a quiet and peaceful caretaking experience. A typical week would involve approximately 20 hours of work assisting with water runs, lick runs and general house/property/machinery maintenance in return for accommodation in a sweet, basic workers cottage. Caravans also welcome and extra paid hours/work in excess of the 20 hrs/week is an option.
Due to the location of the block, the ideal couple would need to have strong practical “handyman” and mechanical skills. The role does not require cattle work although a background with cattle and/or on the land would be an advantage as well as a genuine desire/passion to live remotely.
‘GOOLARA SIDING” is our home block, only 4 kms from the little town of Theodore. A busy hub, this opportunity focusses on animal feed rounds am and pm (including approx. 30 dogs and 20 horses) and general property maintenance when we are away in return for accommodation in a little workers cottage and/or caravans welcome.
If you are interested we would love to hear from you:
