CWQ Station Caretaker needed – Active role

Join our family operated business as caretakers on our a 57,000-acre cattle station in Central Western Queensland. This is an active, autonomous, hands-on role suited to a capable couple who enjoy the challenge of day-to-day station work while living between two welcoming rural communities.

About the role:

We are seeking active, self-motivated couple as caretakers for our cattle property in Central Western Queensland.

This role requires active involvement in day-to-day station operations, livestock management, property maintenance, and supporting continuous property development and improvements.

You’ll report directly to the owners and offsite station manager, who travel frequently to the area.

About us:

• We are a family-owned cattle / beef producer supplying the domestic market
• Cattle are bred on our NT station
• We run Santa Gertrudis /Ultra black steers

Key responsibilities:

• Property maintenance including fencing.
• Livestock handling and mustering (motorbikes, quads)
• General property maintenance and care of all buildings, plant & equipment
• Maintenance and care of all water points
• Keep record of cattle numbers, types and ages on property
• Operating machinery
• Implementing station improvements as needed
• Providing strong operational support to ensure seamless integration between this property and NT breeder property

About you:

• Confident understanding of the role and strong communication skills
• Active, practical and motivated
• Hands on experience in cattle handling and management
• Ability to handle cattle calmly and confidently using low stress techniques
• Sound knowledge in station maintenance and mechanical skills
• Experience with machinery, solar pumps, and general station infrastructure
• Capacity to work independently and show initiative,
• A high standard of workmanship and component, neat and tidy in your work
