Description
Trilby Station (a 320,000 merino sheep property) is on the banks of the Darling River near Louth NSW, and we are currently seeking fit and healthy couples to join the Tourism side of our business for the upcoming tourist season.
We offer 16 designated river campsites, a few powered sites, 3 self contained cottages and a 9 bedroom Shearer's Bunkhouse, and prefer to have two 'Nomad Angel' couples assisting us with the day to day running to ensure no one is overloaded with chores, your afternoons are free and you can have one day off a week. Shindy's Inn at Louth is only 25km (bitumen) and they offer great counter meals andvery social gatherings on weekends.
Ideally we are looking for a one month commitment but anything greater than two weeks would also work, and we currently have vacancies for the second half of March, April, May, July and October.
Chores include:
- Daily cleaning of the amenities, camp kitchen, gazebo and main paved campfire area, including raking this area.
- Daily rubbish/recycle run around the campsites.
- Preparing campsites for new guests on checkout ... raking around the campfire/picnic table area, replacing firewood, sweeping the loos with views.
- Firewood collection. Competent use of a chainsaw please.
- Servicing Mitch's Hut and the Bunkhouse on guest departures. (Liz maintains the other 2 cottages, does the catering and the office, though she does on occasion need a hand with the cottages too)
- Light gardening and handyman duties such as lawn mowing, edging, pruning (with a ride-on and cordless tools).
- Occasionally handling guest checkins if Liz is away for the day.
In lieu of the above we are offering:
- A powered site
- Station meat and eggs
- Basic groceries (bread, milk, fruit and veg... just the basics)
- A tank of fuel on departure
- $250 pocket money per week
If you think you might be a good fit for this position please do let us know OK. You can email me at Liz@trilbystation.com.au
