Description
We are looking for a mature, active couple or capable individual with farm experience (not on WHV) for a few weeks in June-July.
From 25 June - 18 July responsibilities include checking cattle & sheep water & fences at ours & neighbouring leased property, collecting eggs from laying flock once daily, supplying farm shop orders, looking after pet poultry, & the inevitable few odd maintenance jobs that crop up! Totalling approx. 2 hours a day. Also onsite there will be some family members & our live-in worker to assist if any dramas. Bonus if you’re good with kids, could also include some additional paid childcare of our 7 year old in the third week.
Accommodation available (double bed) in our caravan in carport or stay in your own caravan/camper trailer with power & water supplied. Plus a shower, toilet, laundry & kitchen available in cottage too. Full Telstra reception.
You’ll have plenty of time to explore the Margaret River region with its stunning coastlines, surf, caves & forests with walking tracks & cycle trails. Our vibrant local community has plenty of art, wellness & music happenings. And right on our doorstep are world-class wineries, breweries & foodie opportunities, including the popular Cabin Fever food, wine & beer festival from 12-21 July while you’re here…
Would suit non-smoking genuine Grey Nomads or mature travellers with no dogs/cats (due to open range livestock & adjacent wildlife habitat). Please get in touch to introduce yourself with your CV showing farm sit &/or animal experience, plus referees we can contact. We will only consider WHV applicants with references for farm-sitting with large animals.
Look forward to hearing from you, in the meantime, happy travels!
