Farm sitters wanted

My Partner and I are looking for someone to farm sit on our 800 acre property backing onto the Baffle Creek near Miriam Vale.

We’re running around 180 cows with calves at foot and several bulls. The farm is fenced into 8 paddocks, and we are very much concerned with rotational grazing and improvement of pasture and soil health. The creeks and rivers have been fenced off and all animals are provided alternative water points to reduce the stress on the natural waterways.

The beaches of Agnes Water are only 20 minutes away, Bundaberg an hour and Gladstone slightly less. Miriam Vale township is 10 minutes away and has most of the basic conveniences. There is good phone reception at the house and throughout most of the property.

We are seeking someone to look after the place for three weeks in October/November. Basically move cattle a couple of times (easy as- they know where they’re going), feed chooks, keep an eye on the sheep and horses.

The position is unpaid, and there are no costs associated with it.
