Description
We are a mixed farming family operating a working sheep and cropping property near Coonamble in north-west NSW, along with a small farmstay and campground called Gilgooma.
We host travellers looking for a genuine outback farm experience — camping, cabins, self-guided farm walks and occasional small events.
We are looking for a practical couple (or capable single) travelling with their own accommodation who would enjoy spending some time on a quiet rural property helping with a mix of tourism, property and light farm tasks.
This role suits people who like staying active, enjoy practical work and are comfortable working independently.
Typical Tasks
Work is approximately 5 hours per week, varied depending on time of year, weather and bookings. There will be some general cleaning and site maintenance, and depending on your skills and interest, these hours can be increased to include paid work for additional repairs or farm work.
Tasks may include:
- Cleaning cabins and preparing accommodation for new guests
- Cleaning campground amenities and shared areas
- Light gardening and general tidying around buildings
- Collecting rubbish and maintaining campfire areas
- Small maintenance jobs and property upkeep
- Helping set up or pack down small events occasionally
- Assisting with general farm jobs if this is of interest to you
Most work is straightforward and practical — nothing highly technical, but we appreciate people who can use initiative and take pride in keeping things tidy and running smoothly.
What We Offer
In exchange for your help we provide:
- Powered campsite at our farm campground
- Access to camp kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities
- Home grown lamb
- Negotiable weekly wage depending on skills and hours worked
- Plenty of space, quiet and outback skies
Coonamble town is about 30 minutes away for fuel, groceries and supplies.
People who are easygoing, tidy and self-sufficient tend to enjoy their time here the most.
