Description
A new public tender opportunity is now open for Low Isles caretaker services - a 2 year Government contract commencing in October 2026.
Low Isles is about 15 km north-east of Port Douglas and 60 km north of Cairns. It is made up of two small islands: Low Island and Woody Island and is jointly managed and protected by the Reef Authority and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service through the Reef Joint Field Management Program (RJFMP).
The RJFMP is seeking suppliers with previous caretaking or property maintenance experience, handyperson or trade skills, a genuine passion for nature and heritage, and realistic expectations about the rewards and realities of island life. Roles and responsibilities include grounds maintenance, vegetation management, buildings and off-grid systems maintenance and repairs, monitoring compliance with the marine park rules and visitor education.
